Greenport, an historic seaport village located on the
North Fork of Eastern Long Island has been a popular destination since the 18th
century. This scenic village boasts a 60-slip marina, museums, a restored Art
Deco movie theater and a waterside- antique carousel. This town has much to
offer any visitor with its gourmet dining, quaint little shops and memorable
water views.
In the Greenport area, you will enjoy Greenport restaurants breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound to the north, and picturesque
views of Peconic Bay to the south. Some of Long Island’s greatest sunsets can
be seen on Greenport’s north shore. The Shelter Island Ferry shuttles
passengers to and from Greenport Village and Shelter Island all day long
throughout the entire year.
The Maritime Festival in September is very popular, as are
self-guided tours of the local architecture. In Greenport village, you can
enjoy scenic walks at the waterside park during the warmer weather and ice
skating in the winter season. Orient Point, the farthest eastern point on the
North Fork, is just a short drive from here.
